Haven Mid-South Refuge is seeking an experienced, values-driven Board Chairperson to help guide our strategic direction, oversight, and long-term sustainability.

About the role
As Chairperson, you will lead our board, manage meeting dynamics, represent the organisation, and work collaboratively with other board members and our General Manager for the growth and good of Haven Mid-South Refuge and our community.
Key responsibilities & expectations:
- Core Governance Duties: Uphold the duty of care, duty of loyalty, and duty of obedience to ensure the best outcomes for the service.
- Leadership & Strategy: Provide strategic direction, foster collaborative board dynamics, and support long-term stability.
- Time Commitment: Approximately 4 to 6 hours per month for monthly board meetings and subcommittee work.
What we’re looking for
- Experience in, or a strong understanding of, not-for-profit organisations and governance.
- Prior experience in a Chairperson or leadership role is strongly desired.
- A collaborative mindset focused on respectful teamwork, accountability, and impactful community outcomes.
